Winter, the snowmobiler can enjoy 450 miles of

For history buffs, a visit to Iron County
Historical Museum is a must. Here the visitor
will gain insight into Hurley's colorful past
and see what made Hurley one of the most famous
mining and logging towns of all time and earned
the area one of Wisconsin's most recent
designations as a state "Heritage Tourism" area.
Visitors also have the opportunity to take part
in Hurley's "Living History Walking Tour",
offered periodically throughout the spring and
summer months, featuring a costumed cast of
characters performing a variety of skits
depicting logging, mining, and railroad history,
as well as some of the more colorful aspects of
Hurley's heritage, concluding with a fun-filled
burlesque show.
Summer visitors can enjoy great deep sea
fishing aboard one of the many charter boats
operating out of nearby Saxon Harbor on Lake
Superior, or fish a smaller "pond", the popular
Gile Flowage, famous for great walleye fishing.
Great hiking trails lead to more than a dozen
spectacular waterfalls throughout Iron County,
and ATV and mountain biking enthusiasts can
enjoy over 100 miles of wilderness trails. The
golfer can enjoy 18 holes of championship golf
on the panoramic Eagle Bluff Golf Course.
